Striker Vinicius Jr. had a loud argument with coach Diego Simeone in the Madrid derby in the 1/8 round of the King’s Cup.
This incident happened in Real Madrid’s away match against Atletico Madrid in the round of 16 of the King’s Cup early this morning. Specifically, when the referee blew the whistle to end the official match time, for some reason Vinicius Jr. and Diego Simeone quarreled.
The Real striker and the Atletico coach had a very harsh exchange of words. The argument only ended when the players, referees and coaching staff of the two teams promptly stopped Vinicius Jr and Diego Simeone.
In the post-match interview, answering a question regarding the collision with Vinicius Jr., Diego Simeone said: “What happened to Vini Jr.? Nothing, these are just football things that happen on the field.”
As for Vinicius Jr, this is the second time in a row that the Brazilian striker has been seen exchanging words with his opponent. Before that, the Real Madrid striker also spoke loudly, leaving an unflattering image in the victory over Barca in the Spanish Super Cup last weekend.
