There are speculations that superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is about to leave Saudi Arabia to return to his childhood club in his hometown of Portugal.
The 39-year-old forward is currently playing for Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League.
Since his unexpected departure from Manchester United to move to the Middle East, the Portuguese player has scored 58 goals and provided 15 assists in 64 matches.
This impressive form hasn’t been replicated in the national team’s jersey at EURO 2024, where he failed to score despite starting in five matches, leading to Portugal’s elimination in the quarter-finals after a penalty shootout.
Next to Ronaldo was a hat with the Sporting Lisbon logo.
After the tournament, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner spent holiday time with his family.
In a recent Instagram post, Ronaldo shared a photo of him taking a break after participating in a padel match.
The photo was posted on an account with 635 million followers, so it’s no surprise that fans noticed the hat next to Ronaldo with the Sporting Lisbon logo.
Ronaldo played for Sporting during his youth before joining Manchester United in 2003. The image of Ronaldo with the Sporting Lisbon logo hat has led many to speculate that he is about to leave Saudi Arabian football to return to his childhood club.
Ronaldo is currently playing for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia.
“Ronaldo will return to Sporting, and it will happen soon,” one person commented.
Another commented, “Ronaldo is reminiscing about his roots. Sporting Lisbon is where his heart is directed.”
Besides Sporting, Manchester United, and Al-Nassr, Ronaldo has also played for two major clubs in Spain and Italy, Real Madrid and Juventus.
