On the Premier League’s official website, Glenn Hoddle praised Cole Palmer following Chelsea’s emphatic victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Enzo Maresca secured his first Premier League win as Chelsea’s manager. After losing their season opener to reigning champions Manchester City, Chelsea bounced back with a 6-2 triumph against Wolves, even on the road.
While Noni Madueke stole the spotlight with a fantastic hat-trick, Glenn Hoddle highlighted Chelsea’s Cole Palmer as the standout player on the pitch. The 22-year-old playmaker, who played in the number 10 role, scored a stunning goal and provided assists for all three of Madueke’s goals.
Hoddle commented on the Premier League website: “Both Chelsea and Wolves’ defenses were poor throughout the match. However, it was still a fantastic game with some excellent goals. Palmer was a different class player for Chelsea, compared to anyone else on the field.”
Some may have questioned whether Palmer’s breakout season last year was a one-off, but against Wolves, the English star demonstrated that he is ready to make a significant impact in the Premier League once again.
