According to Football Insider, Manchester City is willing to sell Matheus Nunes for £40 million.

Matheus Nunes was signed by Manchester City in last summer’s transfer window as a replacement for Ilkay Gundogan. The Premier League champions agreed to pay Wolverhampton around £53 million for his services.

However, with the German midfielder officially returning to the Etihad Stadium after just a year, Nunes’ chances of playing have become increasingly limited. The Portuguese midfielder has yet to adapt to Manchester City’s style of play.

Football Insider reports that Manchester City is prepared to sell Nunes for £40 million. However, as of now, there has been no specific interest in the midfielder despite the Premier League champions being willing to take a financial loss.

Many believe that if he remains at the club, Nunes could end up as the next Kalvin Phillips, given his struggle to meet the tactical demands set by manager Pep Guardiola.
